Some links to CGI amusements which are at least vaguely related to the Shannonizer. I've avoided Java applets because a large number of web users still can't use them.

The Surrealist Compliment Generator is one of the oldest and most elegant of the Web's CGI games. (The entire site is consistently terrific, by the way.) And don't miss their Exquisite Corpse generator, either.
If you're feeling less than cheery, generate your own Elizabethan Curse instead.
The Excuse Generator appears to be aimed at a teen audience, but has its moments.

You can play with "Life" and other cellular automata at the Live Artificial Life site
Cast the I Ching oracle online. One site is more streamlined, the other more verbose
