Jericha and KALX: Just 20 of our 50 years training young musical minds.

My daughter Jericha discovered KALX when I started DJing, in 1993. At five she was an ardent fan (cue Patti Smith, The Billy Nayer Show and The Pain Teens, please). KALX volunteer Paul Kim had some idea of putting Jericha on a KALX tee shirt, grimacing to our infamous Top 35 in a pair of headphones (left, center). I'm not sure the shirt was ever made, but one of the shots turned into a long-running series of KALX ads in the East Bay Express.

Twenty years later, I'm pleased to say that Jericha is a music fan in San Francisco: belly-dancing, blogging, and hassling at the Exploratorium. We owe it all to KALX, of course. And does she still have a fine ear for music? Well what do you think?
